As We Wait – Advent 2025

As We Wait is the title of MB Seminary’s 2025 Advent devotional. This free resource will begin on the first Sunday of Advent (Nov 30) and conclude on Christmas Day (Dec 25). The devotionals will be scheduled according to the four traditional themes of Advent: hope, peace, joy, and love. Each devotional is written by someone from an MB church and/or agency.

How are texts chosen for each day?
The 2025 devotional will focus on the four traditional themes of Advent: hope, peace, joy, and love. Authors will choose a biblical text that fits one of these themes and the devotionals will be scheduled accordingly.

Hope: Nov 30-Dec 6

Peace: Dec 7-13

Joy: Dec 14-20

Love: Dec 21-25
How can I sign up?

This is a free resource that is sent each day to email subscribers (sign up coming soon).

After subscribing, you will begin receiving emails on November 30. Please add communications@mbseminary.ca to your safe senders list to direct these emails to your inbox (instead of ending up in your junk or spam folders). If you cannot locate the daily email from MB Seminary, check your junk and spam folders and then change your filter settings so that future emails will arrive in your inbox.
When will I begin receiving the emails?

After subscribing, you will begin to receive daily emails on November 30. If you sign up on or after November 30, emails will start the day after you sign up.

The emails are scheduled to send at approximately 2:30 am (Pacific Time) so that subscribers from various time zones will receive it in the morning.

History

Since 2015, MB Seminary has worked together with our national constituency to develop devotional readings for the seasons of Advent (Christmas) and Lent (Easter). Entries are written by authors from MB churches and/or agencies and the text of the day usually follows a specific book of the Bible or is chosen from The Revised Common Lectionary.

The purpose of the resource is to encourage people to read the Bible and to experience how its message can shape their lives. Each devotional is connected to the assigned Bible reading for that day. While the writings are intended for readers to discuss in small group settings, they can also be read individually.
