Financial Aid

We desire to enable all students at MB Seminary to receive quality graduate theological education and to be equipped to reach Canada and the world for Jesus Christ. With generous donations from donors within the Canadian Mennonite Brethren constituency, it is our goal to provide funding that recognizes academic excellence and/or financial need. All applications will be given serious consideration, and the information you provide will assist us in being good stewards of these scholarship, bursary, and endowment funds.

Financial Aid applications (for academic and needs-based awards) are due on the following dates preceding that semester’s courses. Funds awarded are applied directly to the student’s account.

Fall Term: August 1 (this has been extended to Aug 31 for 2025)
Winter Term: December 1
Spring Term: March 1

* Please note that recipients of the Leadership Development Partnership Grant (LDPG) are not eligible for financial aid, but may apply for scholarships and awards.

Questions can be directed to Dr. Brian Cooper, Director of Student Development.

Financial Aid Application

MB Seminary Awards

We provide endowment awards made possible through the generosity of alumni, individual members of our MB constituency, and provincial conferences (e.g. R Epp Family, Nathan Paul Toews, ICOMB), based on financial need and the applicant’s potential for ministry in the church or missions. When an award is granted, the funds are divided between the Fall and Spring semester within the same academic year and applied directly to a student’s account.

New and returning full-time students (9+ credit hours per semester) at our Langley campus will be given preference over part-time students (funds may be available for new and returning part-time students as well). Requests will be processed in the order in which they are received. A student must be enrolled in a degree program at MB Seminary in Langley and maintain the required GPA applicable for their program (minimum 2.5).

Institutional Partner Scholarships

Students enrolled in Langley (ACTS Seminaries) may also apply for academic scholarships. To learn more about the financial aid available, please visit: Associated Canadian Theological Schools (Trinity Western University).

Leadership Development Partnership Grant (LDPG)
The LDPG is a national initiative of the Canadian Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches (CCMBC) to educate and train leaders who are called into ministry-related work. LDPG funding can be applied to any MB Seminary course: through ACTS Seminaries or at a Teaching Church, or with MB Seminary Online. Eligible students must apply for the LDPG and be affirmed by a discernment committee at their home church.
Global Scholarship Fund

International students planning to study at MB Seminary can apply for financial assistance through ICOMB (International Community of Mennonite Brethren). The Global Scholarship Fund is designed to assist students in smaller or developing ICOMB churches to access higher learning.
